Reproductions

Special Collections & Archives offers reproduction services for onsite and remote users. We consider all requests on a case-by-case basis.

For Onsite Users

You can use your cell phone, small personal handheld camera, or tablet to photograph many collection items for your personal reference. A small number of collections cannot be photographed due to School policy or donor restrictions. Staff will let you know if a collection cannot be photographed.

Scans for research

You can request up to 500 pages of scans from the collection per fiscal year (July-June) for personal reference.

There is no charge for reference scans.

Scans for publication or distribution

You can request high-resolution scans for use in articles, books, exhibitions, classrooms, presentations, etc.

You may be charged for high-resolution scanning. We will confirm any charges before we process your order.

Audiovisual Materials

We may be able to provide you with online access to audiovisual material. Due to the complexity of audiovisual content, we cannot provide copies without the permission of copyright holders.

Placing a reproduction request

Place your request through HOLLIS Special Request.

Refer to the Requesting Material (Scroll down to Types of Requests, Copy Requests) section of the HOLLIS for Archival Discovery guide for instructions.

Turnaround Time

We do our best to provide copies within a reasonable amount of time, depending on the complexity of the order and available staff time.

We can confirm an estimated completion date once we receive and review your order.

Large orders may require additional time.

Use of reproductions

Receipt of scanned collection materials does not constitute permission to publish or reuse them.

Refer to our Use and Permissions page for more information on using and citing our collections.
