Public Companies: Fast Growing

How can I find (or create) a list of fast-growing public companies?

Create a list of fast-growing public companies:

In Capital IQ:

  1. Go to Screening > Companies.

  2. Under Company Details, add any geographic or industry filters desired.

  3. Go to Financial Information > Operating Metrics & Ratios.

  4. Under CIQ Operating Metrics and Ratios, select Growth Rates.  Add desired growth rate criteria ( e.g., Total Revenues, 1 Yr Growth %).

  5. Click View Results.

In LSEG Workspace:

  1. Type 'screener' into the main search bar to load the Screener App.

  2. Change the Universe to Public Companies.

  3. At the top of the filters where it says Unsaved Screen, click the drop down and select TR US Large Growth to load the saved screen.

  4. You will see all of the filters applied at the bottom of the screen. These can be edited by clicking the pencil icon, if desired.

Use published lists:

  • American City Business Journals -  Many local business journals for specific cities in the U.S. publish a Book of Lists that include a list of fast growing or largest public companies.

To locate Book of Lists in the database, click Select a City, and select your desired location. On the right-hand side of the page, you will see section entitled Your News. Under Digital Editions, there is a link to Book of Lists.

Note: Some cities' lists  (ex. Chicago, Los Angeles) are available only in print in the Stamps Reading Room (ask at the desk for help).

  • Forbes Lists

  • Fortune Rankings
