Life Sciences: R&D spending, pharma manufacturing cost
Where can I find R&D spending and pharma manufacturing cost data in life sciences industries, such as biotech, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals?
Type BI in the search box to locate R&D spending data
For a particular public company’s R&D expenditure:
Type in the company name in the top search box
Select “Income Statement” under financial s/Valuation in the left column
Locate “R&D Exp.” Under the Supplemental Operating Expense Items section on the table
To screen R&D expenditure within the industries:
Select “Screening” tab at the top tool bar > Companies to open the Screen Builder
In the first column of the Screen Builder, select “Industry Classifications” in the Company Details bucket > select “Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology and Life Sciences” > click <Add Criteria>
Select “Financial Statements” in the Financial Information bucket > Income Statement > R&D Expense > specify the details as needed > click <Add Criteria>
You can combine any criteria listed in the Screen Builder as needed.
