Index constituents

Current Constituent List

Bloomberg

1. For a list of current index securities type EQS and hit GO. Screen by index.

2. After selecting index, click View Results.

3. On the subsequent screen, adjust the As Of date field as needed to pull constituents for a particular point in time.

Capital IQ (S&P 500 only)

1. Search for S&P 500

2. Choose constituents from left-hand menu

3. Export to Excel

LSEG Workspace (data may not be available for all indexes)

1. Search for index by name.

2. Hover over Constituents tab.

3. Select either Index Reports for a list of current companies, or Leavers and Joiners for a historical list of all companies that were added or removed from the index over time.

Historical Constituent Lists (not comprehensive, but includes the S&P indices and others)

Finaeon

1. Choose Constituent Membership from the left-hand menu

2. From Choose a category, select Major U.S Indices

3. From Choose an index, select  your index

4. For historical lists, select current membership and then as of specific date
