Affordable housing resources
Where can I begin my research on affordable housing in the United States?
Associations & Institutes
Trade, industry, and professional associations are lobbying and advocacy organizations, but they also serve as a forum to collect and disseminate information. They can be excellent sources for facts, statistics, reports, and can be a place to locate contacts to speak with about your research interest.
Many trade associations include data on their Web pages and in their publications. [Sometimes this is only available for a fee.]
Websites
Government agencies and nonprofit organizations are also good resources for data and reports on housing and construction.
Disability.gov Affordable Housing Research & Statistics
Federal Housing Finance Agency Research and Analysis
U.S. Census Bureau Guide to Construction Data Sources Â
US Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) Office of Policy Development & ResearchÂ
