Special Collections and Archives collects and makes available the records of business dating from the 14th century to the present and the records of the Harvard Business School since its founding in 1908.

Suez Canal Resources

The Kress Collection of Business and Economics and Baker Old Class Collection both include 19th century materials concerning the Suez Canal.

 

One particularly interesting volume is an illustrated souvenir of the opening of the Suez Canal in 1870:

(Illustrations: four black and white portrait plates of European royalty, the Khedive, and nobility, and thirteen color plates lithographed after watercolors by Edouard Riou, all executed by Imp. Two corporate reports on Arabian companies

Arabian Companies in the Historic Corporate Reports Collection

Baker Library’s Historic Corporate Reports Collection contains annual reports for companies based in several Middle Eastern countries, including Egypt, Morocco, and United Arab Emirates, dated from 1881 to 2014. The companies were involved in numerous industries, including banking, petroleum, textiles, and hospitality. Examples include Abu Dhabi Petroleum Co. Ltd., Egyptian Silk and Cotton Co., and Agricultural Bank of Egypt.
