Access to the Baker Library | Bloomberg Center

The Baker Library | Bloomberg Center lobby and the Stamps Reading Room are currently open to Harvard students, faculty, and staff, except to Harvard Extension School students.  Library staff are once again on site and providing research and circulation services.  

During the first two weeks of January 2022, Baker Library Special Collections’ de Gaspé Beaubien Reading Room is open to Harvard students, staff, and faculty ONLY. Please contact for additional information on our access policies. Use this form to request an appointment.

Access to physical library items  

Items from Baker’s collections are available to current HU students, faculty, and staff in person at Baker Library.  Baker’s collections are also available for transfer to a preferred pick-up location at other Harvard Library Locations.  Refer to Access to Harvard Libraries to ensure smooth pick-up of your items.  

Items from other Harvard Libraries also are available for transfer to Baker Library for pick-up.

Baker Library Special Collections

Librarians and archivists are available to: 

  • Support HBS and HU faculty to provide content for courses and help develop virtual or in-person learning experiences for students 
  • Provide in-depth reference via email, phone, or web conference to determine the scope of your research project and evaluate how staff can best meet your needs
  • Direct you to relevant resources
  • Assist you in planning research visits or reproduction requests
