Special Collections & Archives is vigorously building its archival and historical collections to support emerging trends in contemporary scholarship and research directions for the future and build on our strong collection foundation. We are committed to strengthening our collections to provide unique resources for exploring the important theories, organizations, movements, and individuals that have shaped the business world today, making certain that the HBS community and global scholars in the future have access to original materials that support their research and teaching.

Our emphasis is on the content of materials, not the format. We strive to collect comprehensively including born-digital materials as electronic records, datasets, obsolete media, and audiovisual materials and manage an active web-archiving program. While the collections contain extensive materials on American business leaders from the colonial period to the present, we are actively working to expand both the diversity and global scope of Special Collections. We strive to make our collections inclusive and representative of the HBS community and the broader business world.
