Michael Danzi, MBA 1987

Michael “Mike” Danzi, HBS 1987, started his career in the Navy, as part of an elite reconnaissance submarine crew during the final years of the Cold War. He then came to HBS to study. After graduation Mike went to work in financial services, but soon realized he wanted to launch and run businesses rather than only finance them. He joined a small machinery company to learn about operations and management firsthand. He then founded his own broker-dealership to provide financing for growth companies in medical and technology-driven industries. While there, Mike saw an opportunity to expand one of his client firms, serving as its president and chairman before launching his most recent venture US Labs, which provides high-end laboratory and pathology services to hospitals throughout the United States. In December 2001, at his office in Irvine, California, Mike described his hands-on, engaging career as an entrepreneur.
