Service Overview

HBS faculty and staff may place requests for links to library course materials to post on Canvas through this form. All requests will be filled digitally through links to database content whenever possible.

For links to items, please enter full citations using the form below or upload a document containing citations.

Links are provided within three business days. Large requests may take longer; in these situations a delivery date will be negotiated. Books for reserve can take two weeks to be processed. Not all content may be available via library resources.

If no links to digital copies are available, we will be in touch with alternatives. We may be able to put a physical book on reserve in the Stamps Reading Room or provide scans. Posting scans to Canvas requires obtaining permission from HBS Case Services.

Options for obtaining scans:

  • For the fastest, and direct access, visit the location with the item and scan it.  Use HOLLIS to locate items at libraries across Harvard.
  • For staff mediated access, start with trying Scan & Deliver to request the item.

If you have any questions, please email Baker Library Information Services at infoservices@hbs.edu or call (617) 495-6040.

Note: All materials on reserve must comply with copyright restrictions:

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy/reproduction is not to be "USED FOR ANY PURPOSES OTHER THAN PRIVATE STUDY, SCHOLARSHIP, or RESEARCH." If a user makes a request for, and later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes IN EXCESS of fair use, that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copyright order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
