Standard & Poor's Ratings Direct

Help Sheet

1. Go into the main page of Standard & Poor's Ratings Direct.
2. Click on “Research” under Advanced Search.
3. This will take you into the “Advanced Search” screen which gives you the most options to build your search.
4. To find research on a particular corporate issue, type in the name of the company in the main search box.

Industry Sector Credit Information

Locating Creditstats Reports in Standard & Poor's Ratings Direct:

If you need to locate credit ratings information for an industry sector overall, check out the Creditstats report and Industry Report Card.  Creditstats provides a comparative ratings history, ratios, and analytical data for a group of companies in an industry.  The Industry Report Card provides topical commentary and analysis of various industry sector credit issues.

To locate these reports in Standard & Poor's Ratings Direct:

1. Go into the main page of Standard & Poor's Ratings Direct.
2. Click on “Research” under Advanced Search.
3. In the subsequent window, look for the pull-down window under “Commentary Subject”.  Click on the type of report you wish to locate: Industry Report Card or Creditstats.
4. Once you have selected the report type, look under the section that says by keyword or exact phrase, type in the name of the industry or relevant key word in the text entry box, and then hit Enter.  A list of titles of relevant reports will appear.  Click on a title to view the report.  (This will yield more targeted reports than choosing Sector indexing.

Browsing All Reports:

To browse through all the recent Creditstat reports or Industry Report Cards regardless of industry, follow the procedures above to Step 3.  Then under the section that says by keyword or exact phrase, click your mouse in the text entry box without entering anything. Then hit Enter.  A list of all the reports that have been published with the most recent listed first will appear.
