Adding Index Terms to Search Select index terms from the "Factiva Intelligent Indexing" selection option. Click on "Advanced" tab, click on "Browse Topics" and select "Subjects." In Power Search screen click "Add keywords" to add Index Terms.

Full-Text Commands (When commands used, full-text option should be selected):
How to Switch Search to Full-Text View From the drop-down menu that says "Search for free-text terms in": select "Full Article." In Advanced Search Screen search in box with "Article Text" field option chosen from drop-down menu. In Power Search screen type commands where it says "Enter Search Terms".

Date Searching Choose from the drop-down menu. Headline or Title, Lead Paragraph, Abstract Offers use of drop-down menus or commands. hl= searches within headline; hlp= searches within headline or lead paragraph. Offers use of drop-down menus or commands. ti(term) searches within article title - ex. ti(future AND career); abs(term) searches within abstract - ex. abs(customer service). Offers use of drop-down menus or commands. headline(ford motor) searches within headline; hlead(ford motor) searches within headline or lead paragraph.
Word Count - Specify Number of Words in an Article wc>500 - finds articles of more than 500 words. words(>500) - finds articles containing 500 words or more. length>500 - will find articles with more than 500 words.
