This file includes the declaration of Phebe Chandler of Andover, Massachusetts, stating that she deserves a pension under the act of Congress of July 7, 1838, entitled "an act granting half-pay and pensions to certain widows." Her husband, James Chandler, was a Revolutionary War veteran who received a pension under an act of Congress in 1818.

They were married in 1794 and he died in 1835.
