This collection of business and personal papers for a family of Boston, Massachusetts, merchants includes the bills of Mary Bayard, the wife of Balthazar Bayard. Among these papers are receipts from three women, all of whom worked in Boston.
Hannah Tate was a seamstress who was paid by Mary Bayard for making gowns, a sack, and a tote; Mary Clark was paid for a necklace and earrings; and Henrietta Maria Caine was paid for flowers, earrings, mask, tape, silk, ribbon, a half-mourning fan, and black velvet clogs.
