Volume 1 and folder 1

This volume of Ebenezer Storer, Jr. includes the accounts of the estate of Ebenezer Storer, Sr., of Boston, Massachusetts. It also contains a copy of the will of Ebenezer Storer, Sr., and other administrative and legal documents related to the settlement of the estate, as well as a lengthy account of the controversy surrounding the estate, which could not be settled until the death of the widow, Mary Storer (d. 1771).

The will shows that Storer left his widow 400 pounds, three slaves, and the use of the mansion house on Union Street. After his death, her children also allowed her the horse and carriage and two more slaves that they believed their father would have also left for her use if he had had time to make another will.

The residue from the estate and the property held by the widow until her death was to be split among the children, two fifths going to the eldest son and one fifth to the other three.
