The file contains the accounts (1822-1827) of Mrs. Lucretia Gowdey, documenting her debits for cloth, food, shoes, and various dry goods. She was credited for ashes, rye, butter, corn, beef, flannel, soap grease, hens, chickens, apples, and wood.

It also includes a letter from Harriet Hall to her husband, Philander Hall (a merchant in Savannah, Georgia), written in New Lebanon, New York, on July 16, 1815. In the letter she discusses the health of her child, travel from New York City to New Lebanon, and a visit with relatives.
