The Dike family papers include accounts for Mrs. Polly Dike, who ran a farm during the 1820s and 1830s that had livestock, apple trees, grain, and a cider mill.

Between 1825 and 1830 she sold cider, apples, veal, corn, and butter and paid Moses Bixby for killing calves and sheep, gelding pigs and calves, "doctring" a hog and sow, "taking head calf from your low," and for making cider at the mill. She also paid for work on her barn, and for yokes and hoes.
