The Waltham Watch Company, known as American Watch Company from 1859 to 1885, and American Waltham Watch Company from 1885 to 1906, manufactured watches in Waltham, Massachusetts, until the 1950s. The company employed many girls and women. Time books which record production per worker suggest that they were employed in drilling, punching, polishing, and finishing watch parts.
