Papers related to the investments of Hannah B. Rogers between 1823 and 1829.
Her brother Henry, who also acted as her attorney, managed her estate. He lost a considerable amount of her money and his own by investing heavily in the Boston & Canton Manufacturing Company.
Much of the materials have to do with arbitration looking into whether his dealing with his sister's funds had been in good conscience. Other papers show the sale of other stocks that she held, including Boston Marine Insurance Co., American Bank, United States Bank, and Massachusetts Fire and Marine Insurance.
