The Parkhill Manufacturing Company was a manufacturer of fine ginghams in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, organized in 1879 and liquidated in 1928. The collection contains a continuous series of payrolls from 1882 to 1927, with women workers present throughout.
Early payrolls do not specify job titles, but later payrolls do, with the greatest number of women workers concentrated in the weaving room. Weave room cloth books from 1880 to 1904 show that virtually all the weavers were women.
