Historical Collections

Duplication Services

To assist scholars with their research, Baker Library Historical Collections (BLHC) offers various reference duplication and delivery services. All requests are considered on a case by case basis, depending upon size, binding, condition, and copyright, donor, or other stipulations. BLHC staff will determine whether material may be copied.

Given the fragile nature of the collections, researchers are encouraged to transcribe text to the fullest extent possible or take advantage of the Self Service Digital Camera Use Policy whenever possible.

Reference copies are for research purposes only. We do not provide or allow reference copies of entire collections or significant portions of manuscript or archival collections, and follow fair use guidelines when providing copies of copyrighted print materials. If more than 50% of a printed work is requested, researchers will be responsible for the entire cost of digitizing the material for online access.

Not all BLHC materials qualify for every service. Please see the various scenarios and services listed below, and contact BLHC for more specific details on duplication and delivery options.
