Samuel Stearns lived in or near Cambridge, Massachusetts during the years 1760-1785. A farmer, Stearns also sold timber and cider. Students at Harvard College frequently purchased cider from his mill as did General George Washington when he lived in Cambridge during the Revolution. This 112-page day book details financial transactions for 25 years. Entries contain the name of the customer and place of residence, items purchased and the amount charged. An "X" is marked through entries that are paid. This day book is one of thousands of account books that are part of the Business Manuscripts Collection.
