Polaroid Corporate Archives
Founded in 1937 by Edwin H. Land, the Polaroid Corporation was among the most recognizable companies of the twentieth century. Best known for its instant photography cameras and film, Polaroid was acclaimed for its innovative product development and for its creative marketing. Polaroid donated its corporate archives to Baker Library in 2006. This remarkably comprehensive collection of more than 4,000 linear feet of material includes research and development records, test photographs, advertising materials, corporate publications, legal and patent documents, cameras and other Polaroid products. Among the first major twentieth-century corporate archives added to the library’s collections, the Polaroid archives represent Baker Library’s commitment to securing the records of contemporary business leaders for research use.Operating Policy Committee Approval, November 1967.
