Deal DescriptionThe Mead Corporation deposited the net proceeds from this transaction with the trustee, in trust, for the redemption on or about May 1, 1940, of the outstanding first mortgage 6% gold bonds, series A, due May 1, 1945. Concurrently therewith, the company paid and retired all outstanding 4 1/2% collateral promissory notes, due serially, semi-annually 1940 to 1945, and deposited, with said indentures trustee, for cancellation, all of the outstanding first mortgage 4 1/2% bonds, series B.
