Deal DescriptionThe Industrial Development Board of the City of Copperhill, Tennessee issued the pollution control revenue bonds to refund all interm construction notes outstanding, which were issued to finance a portion of the construction and acquisition of certain pollution control facilities at the manufacturing operations of Cities Service Company. The bonds were also issued to complete said pollution control facilities and to finance the construction and acquisition of certain additional pollution control facilities. The industrial bonds were issued to provide funds for the acquisition, construction, and financing of certain manufacturing and industrial facilities, which were located at the Copperhill Complex. The pollution control project consisted of several separate facilities designed to control air and water pollution at the Copperhill Complex. Air pollution control facilities included "double pass" absorption units on two sulfuric acid plants and a gas-cleaning system on an iron pelletizing plant. The water pollution control facilities included two industrial waste water treatment systems composed of sewer lines, various treating and holding tanks and basins, clarifier systems and monitoring devices, a sanitary sewage collection system, and several smaller sewage collection and handling systems. The industrial project consisted of certain component elements of a major modification of the copper smelting system at the Copperhill Complex.
