Deal DescriptionCodex Corporation applied the net proceeds from this transaction to repayment of its short-term bank loans previously incurred to meet working capital requirements. The balance of the proceeds was added to the general funds of the company, to be used for working capital purposes. Initially, such funds were invested in short-term obligations. The need for additional working capital arose largely from increased inventories, which were attributable to the increase in backlog and the development of new products.
