| Deal Description | The bonds were issued by Baltimore County, Maryland to provide funds to be loaned to Bethlehem Steel Corporation for the acquisition, construction, installation, and equipping of certain air and water pollution control facilities at the Sparrows Point Plant of the corporation in the County. The pollution-control facilities consisted of the following projects: control of air pollution from new sinter plant, control of water pollution from coke oven gas coolers, control of water pollution from blast furnace gas cleaning, control of water pollution by collecting sanitary sewage, and control of water pollution by collecting zinc-bearing waste water. The installation of the facilities was required to enable the corporation to comply with existing regulations of the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and Department of Health and Mental Hygiene with respect to the abatement of air and water pollution. |
