Continental Illinois Properties was a real estate investment trust based in Los Angeles. It was organized and went public in November 1971 with a stock offering of $100 million. The purpose of the trust was to invest in a portfolio of real estate equity investments and long-term mortgage loans often coupled with an equity interest.
The trust was advised by Continental Illinois Property Advisors, a subsidiary of Continental Illinois Corporation, the holding company for Continental National Bank & Trust of Chicago, at the time one of the largest banks in the United States.
