Jordan Servicenter was incorporated in Massachusetts in January 1969. It was organized by Charles Ewing, Arnold Hunnewell Jr., and George Shaw as a subsidiary of Alstores Realty Corporation, which in turn was a subsidiary of Allied Stores Corporation, the owner of the Jordan Marsh chain of department stores based in Boston. The Alstores Realty Corporation owned and developed commercial real estate including office buildings and shopping centers.
The Jordan Servicenter Company was created for the purpose of creating a distribution and warehousing business in Massachusetts.
