I really think that the whole business school experience…taught me to think in a way I hadn’t before. Taught me to solve problems, be willing to be analytic, solve problems, and then take action...how to think in a new way that has stuck with me, and has been very important to my career.

Franklin was one of the original commissioners of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and U.S. Secretary of Commerce from 1992-1993. She currently is the President and CEO of Barbara Franklin Enterprises, an international trade consulting and investment firm.
