Research Services for the R.G. Dun & Co. Collection

Upon written request and for projects that generally qualify for in person access to materials, Baker Library Historical Collections reference staff will conduct limited searches for provided business or individual names in the R.G. Dun & Co. Credit Report Volumes indexes. There is a fee of $25.00 per hour for this service, with a minimum fee of $15.00 and a maximum search time of two hours. Patrons are billed for search time whether or not designated names are located in the appropriate volumes.

After receiving payment and a signed copy of the application, reference staff will provide the results - the Dun Credit Report Volumes and page numbers for any names found. Reference staff cannot provide transcription services for the R.G. Dun & Co. Credit Report Volumes. Due to their fragile condition, the Dun Credit Report Volumes cannot be photocopied and, due to donor and other restrictions, the credit report volumes do not qualify for self service digital camera use.

To request a search:

1. Please contact the Baker Library Historical Collections reference staff
2. Describe your research topic and its intended result (dissertation, article, book, etc.)
3. Provide a list of names and volumes to be searched from the guide to the R.G. Dun & Co. Credit Report Volumes.
4. Indicate your acceptance of research service fees
5. Return a signed copy of the application.
