Historical Collections

Research Services for the R.G. Dun & Co. Collection

Upon written request, Historical Collections reference staff can conduct a search for business or individual names in the R.G. Dun & Co. index volumes for a fee of $25.00 per hour. There is a minimum fee of $15.00 and a maximum search time of two hours for this service. Patrons are billed for search time whether or not designated names are located in the appropriate volumes.

Staff will mail the research results to the patron, including the Dun volumes and page numbers for any names found. Reference staff cannot provide transcription services for the R.G. Dun & Co. Collection. Due to their fragile condition, the Dun volumes cannot be photocopied.

To request a search, contact the Historical Collections reference staff. Be sure to describe your research topic and project (dissertation, article, book, etc.). Only those projects that generally qualify for in-person access to Historical Collections materials can be accommodated by this service. Return a signed copy of the application along with a list of names, including the volume numbers for the corresponding states and counties listed in the guide to the R.G. Dun & Co. Collection.
