Answer:

Standard & Poor's Net Advantage is good for industries dominated by public companies.

  • For U.S. industries, make a selection from the list of Industry Surveys in the Quick Links.
  • For global industries, click the Industries tab on the blue navigation bar at the top of the screen, then select a region and industry from the section.

Datamonitor Industry Reports (available in OneSource Global Business Browser and Business Source Complete) include major market players, statistics and trends, and industry associations.

  • In OneSource click Industry. From an industry profile page click Market Research.
  • In Business Source Complete search on the industry filter to industry profiles.

eMarketer is a good source of statistics on emerging industries.

First Research is a source of descriptions of industries in the United States.

Global Market Information Database covers over 350 markets in 207 countries.

MarketResearch.com includes reports from several market research firms in health care, consumer goods, publishing, manufacturing.

Look for Special Issues of trade journals for that industry.

Use the HOLLIS Catalog to identify books and periodicals on the industry.
